Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court Abuja has granted a request reviewing the bail conditions granted to Omoyele Sowore, convenes of the #RevolutionNow movement.
The court had earlier set a N100 million bail bond for Sowore with two sureties who must be resident in Abuja and have landed properties within the federal capital territory. It had also held that the sureties must deposit original documents of those properties in the court registry. The judge also ordered that one of the sureties must deposit N50 million with the court pending the determination of the case. In addition, Sowore was ordered to deposit his international passport with the court.
However, on Monday, the court reviewed the conditions, reducing the amount to be deposited to N30m
Sowore, who is also Publisher of Sahara Reporters and a presidential candidate in the last elections, is being held on charges of treasonable felony and ‘insulting the President’.
