The Director-General of the State Security Service otherwise known as Department for State Security (DSS) has been relieved of his appointment with immediate effect.
In a terse statement Tuesday afternoon, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity (attached to the Office of the Vice-President), Laolu Akande made this known to State House reporters through a press release.
The Vice President Pastor Yemi Osinbajo has been acting as President since the President Muhammadu Buhari departed for London on Friday on a 10-day vacation.

The Acting President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has directed the termination of the appointment of the Director General State Security Service, Lawal Musa Daura with immediate effect.
Mr Daura has been directed to hand over to the most senior officer of the State Security Service until further notice
